Today is my birthday. 53. This numerical factoid feels like a strange aside which has naught to do with me personally. I merely take note and give thanks.
This morning I awoke from a most wonderful dream:::::
It is a cool night and I am on a boat, on the ocean. Off of either side of the boat are dolphins dancing in the waves and amidst the waves there is blue bioluminescence rippling shimmers on the backs of the dolphins. The lights are mercurial and joyful. 🛥🐬🐬🐬🌊🌊🌊
This morning a dear friend I’ve not seen in over a year was able to stop over for a walk. Later, I had lunch with some of my family and tonight there is pie with some more of my family. How fortunate am I that I get to see them all in one day?
Also, PIE. 🥧
I stopped at a local bespoke plants place called Fern and bought a new plant friend because, besides pie, plants make everything a little bit better. 🌱🌿
The moon is full of late, and Pleiades sparkle my yearly birthday gifts through the evening skies. 🌕🌝✨Take a look if you can.
All of this is to say, thanks to everyone who’s texted or emailed or called or reached out on the socials to say hi and happy birthday. We live in such strange times right now and let’s face it, it’s hard to human.
But along with the difficulties come days like this, where a dip in humidity offers a temporary lightness of heart, and where the kindness of so many people can make a girl feel a bit special for the day.
Here’s to another trip around the sun in this old troublesome meat suit.
