This being summer, I am not accustomed to being he

This being summer, I am not accustomed to being here in Ohio much. I long for far away places in which to fill my well. With that in mind I’ll be taking a wee break from social media in the coming weeks. If you need me you can always see what I’m up to on the blog. @johnjoebadger will hopefully post his adventures each week, but no promises.
Truth be told I need more of the real world (even, and perhaps especially, the one inside my head) and less of the online one for awhile. Have a great summer!!

There are a lot of folks working hard to get online content and opportunities out there for everyone during lockdown. I even run our local session here in town which I’ve taken to calling ‘the dog and pony show’. It’s been fun and a labor of love, even though being social for 2 hours straight can be a bit daunting week to week. But we must keep each other company until it is safe to come together once more. We have been given the great gift of a few days of fine, cool weather. John Joe Badger has taken this opportunity to invite a dear fiddling friend over for a tune at an appropriate distance. Which is still closer and more fun than awkward screen based tunes over the mycelial network (fine as those are when needs must). These strange times do not seem to be leaving us. And so we must adjust, keep safe best we can, and also do the small things which keep our souls healthy in a difficult era. A tune with a dear old friend is just the thing. For today at least.

We really love what Ben and Jerry’s ice cream company had to say about dismantling white supremacy. You can find their statement on their website. In it they state clear demands which we should all back up with calls on our representatives to move forward with these initiatives and more. Together we can do this.
